Represent the interests of the commercial/multifamily members on financial management and regulatory issues before such agencies as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), US Department of the Treasury, and the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) plus accounting guidance that may issue from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

Purpose
Develop and advocate membership initiatives designed to advance international opportunities within the real estate finance community through outreach, education, and interaction. Committee goals include: increase foreign interest and membership in the MBA through Committee outreach; develop a comprehensive international membership directory; create and implement forums and educational initiatives related to transaction issues encountered by foreign investors and members investing internationally; establish strategic alliances with other organizations with similar missions.

Purpose
Propose, evaluate, and establish federal legislative policy initiatives for MBA's commercial and multifamily interests. Engage in activities intended to foster professional relationships between MBA members and members of both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

Purpose
Collect, evaluate and disseminate information on financing of multifamily housing, including conventional, FHA-insured and GSE products and programs. Work with conventional investors, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae on the smooth functioning of the secondary market for multifamily loans. Study and encourage improvements in all aspects of FHA-insured loan programs. Work with public agencies and private groups to encourage, develop and disseminate information on programs supporting development of multifamily housing for low- and moderate-income persons.

Purpose
Represent the interests and issues addressed by originators of mortgage debt products including: mortgage bankers, commercial banks and aggregators who use intermediaries. Senior lending executives and key decision makers involved in originating loans are invited to be active in this committee. Interested parties for this committee will be the person in the organization who works with borrower relationships or is involved in using and assessing market information, property-type information and trends to assist reaching out to the borrower.

Purpose
Provide a forum for discussions relating to issues affecting real estate investment portfolios of life insurance companies and other portfolio lenders. Educate members on these issues by conducting regional forums and other events. Serve as a resource for addressing portfolio lenders' questions regarding regulatory compliance. Advocate credible policy positions that address issues affecting commercial and multifamily mortgage and real estate investments of: life insurance companies, pension funds, commercial banks and other portfolio lenders.

Purpose
Facilitate research, development and publication of information pertaining to the commercial real estate and multifamily finance industry, including annual production of surveys reporting on the production and servicing operations of mortgage banking firms.

Purpose
Study, review and shape current practices and trends in the administration and asset management of commercial real estate investments -- both debt and equity. Recommend and provide information on improvements in methods of administering those investments. Provide training forums and networking opportunities for the loan servicing/asset management through participation in the Regional Training Forums and Asset Administration and Technology Conference.

Purpose
Provide strategic direction for commercial and multifamily members to meet the revolutionary changes in information technology as these affect the commercial/multifamily real estate finance industry. Areas of particular focus include providing unbiased information on e-commerce and technology products, topics and services to MBA members, providing value-added tools and applications that can be used across the mortgage value chain and developing forums for promoting the privacy and security of databases, information and transactions in an e-commerce environment.

Purpose
Provide a forum for discussions and the development of guidelines relating to underwriting, closing and due diligence of real estate collateral for financing including the: 1) the evaluation of physical condition, assessment of environmental issues and valuation of income property; 2) Compliance with standard lender conditions precedent to closing and funding loans; and 3) Standardization of loan closing documentation.
