Purpose:
Study, review and shape current practices and trends in the administration and asset management of commercial real estate investments--both debt and equity. Recommend and provide information on improvements in methods of administering those investments. Provide training forums and networking opportunities for the loan servicing/asset management professional through participation in the Regional Training Forums and Asset Administration and Technology Conference. Current Initiatives:
- MBA develops new standard for reporting significant structural damages and insurance information after a catastrophic event
- MBA Servicing & Technology Conference (formerly Asset Administration & Technology Conference)
- MBA Regional Servicing Forums
- Inspection Form Review and Revision Working Group. The revised property inspection form is anticipated for May 2007.
- Certified Mortgage Servicer (CMS) Designation Working Group. First 6 web-based courses for Level 1 anticipated in 2007.
- Asset Administration Policies and Procedures Manual. MBA will host monthly conference calls on all the different responsibilities that are performed by commercial servicers. Each discussion will culminate in a written policy on the best practices for servicers in that area of their business. For a schedule of the discussion topics, click here.
