One of the hottest areas evolving today is mediation, as more states institute formal mediation programs. This expert panel represents all parties involved during a mediation and walks the audience thorough several possible scenarios, focusing on various types, including telephonic and in-person mediation. In addition, the panel addresses the types of results which can stem from mediation, including HAMP/HAFA, modifications, short sales and forbearance plans. It also addresses cases where mediation will not work. The focus is upon the reasons that both lenders and their counsel must be fully prepared and appear for mediations. The moderator highlights key lessons and facilitates interaction between the panel and audience.
